1. Who is responsible for your data
David Bauer (individual), Kaiserstr 102, 52146 Würselen, Germany, is the data controller for the data described here. Contact us via the Support form.
2. What we collect, and why
a) When you buy a Pro license
- Your email address and purchase reference — collected by Paddle (our payment processor and Merchant of Record) and shared with us so we can issue and support your license.
- Your license key and which/how many devices have activated it (a device identifier, not personal data about you specifically) — to enforce the 2-device limit.
b) When you use the Support form
The name, email address, and message you provide — used only to answer your question, never published or shared beyond what's needed to help you.
c) When you use the app itself
- Your IPTV/Jellyfin/Plex login details are encrypted (AES-256-GCM, Android Keystore) and stored only on your own device. We never see, receive, or store them on our servers.
- If you enable VPN (WireGuard) or Hysteria2 in the Pro app, that configuration is likewise encrypted and stored only on your device.
- If you add your own TMDb or OpenSubtitles API key, requests using that key go directly from your device to TMDb/OpenSubtitles — not through our servers. Those services' own privacy policies apply to that traffic.
- The Pro app periodically checks our update server for new versions — a routine request (like any app update check) that doesn't send personal data beyond what any web request includes (IP address, app version).
- AbyssIPTV does not include any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
d) Server logs
Like virtually all web servers, our hosting logs basic request data (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for operational and security purposes such as abuse prevention.
3. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process this data to perform our contract with you (issuing and supporting your license), to respond to support requests (legitimate interest), and to prevent fraud or abuse of the licensing system (legitimate interest).
4. Who we share data with
- Paddle.com Market Ltd — payment processing, invoicing, VAT handling. See Paddle's Privacy Policy.
- Brevo (email delivery provider) — used only to send license and support emails.
- netcup GmbH — our hosting provider (servers located in Germany), which processes data purely as part of running our website and license server.
We do not sell your data, and don't share it with anyone else beyond what's needed to run the service described above.
5. International transfers
Paddle and Brevo may process data outside the EU/EEA; both provide appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers. Our hosting (netcup) is located in Germany, within the EU.
6. How long we keep data
License and purchase records are kept as long as needed to support your license and meet legal/tax retention obligations. Support form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your request, then deleted within a reasonable time.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these, contact us via the Support form.
8. Children
AbyssIPTV is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice occasionally; the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly.
